"With the quarter system, there are so many options. I realized I can have it all." --Kristin Lawson
Pursue amazing choices
In an extraordinary array of programs and courses, you'll have exceptional opportunities to explore where your curiosity leads. Northwestern's academic calendar – three 10-week quarters each year – encourages breadth of study while retaining the depth you'd expect of a great university. Weinberg College offers more than 2,000 courses in its many fields.
We encourage you to cross intellectual boundaries, bringing the insights of several disciplines to bear on your interests.
Choose two majors or couple your major with a minor, if you like. You can combine interests that are far apart on the spectrum. Major in Chemistry and minor in Business Institutions. Double major in Psychology and International Studies. The possibilities are vast.
In addition to your major, choose from a broad array of electives, learning to see as an art historian does, to understand culture as a sociologist, or to read novels about the Asian American experience. It's up to you.
Weinberg students also may enroll in courses in Northwestern's schools of communication, education, engineering, journalism, and music.
