A Day with Northwestern
On April 14, Northwestern Alumni Association presents A Day with Northwestern, a day of lectures and presentations on varied timely topics from some of the University’s most distinguished alumni and faculty. This year, the following speakers will represent Weinberg:
- Lisa Graziose Corrin, Senior Lecturer in Art History and Director, Block Museum
- Thomas Meade, Professor of Chemistry
- Wendy Pearlman, Assistant Professor of Political Science
- Kevin Leonard (WCAS77, G82), University Archivist
- Rick Telander (WCAS71), sports columnist, Chicago Sun-Times
- Terry O’Neill (WCAS74), President, National Organization for Women
- A student panel on undergraduate research featuring Jessica Allen (WCAS12), Gabriel Schonfeld (WCAS12), Melissa Rothman (WCAS12), and Jacklyn Giannitrapani (WCAS12)
Six Weinberg alums were among nineteen honored by the University during the 79th annual Alumni Awards ceremony held March 3 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago.
Since 1932, the NAA has honored alumni who have distinguished themselves as outstanding professional and personal achievers in their fields and who have loyally dedicated their time and service to their alma mater. This year’s award recipients have earned acclaim in business, engineering, journalism, the arts, law, athletics, medicine and health care.
The six Weinberg alums honored are:
- Thomas Z. Hayward, Jr. ('62), awarded the Alumni Medal
- Terry A. O'Neill ('74) and Teresa K. Woodruff (G'89), who received an Alumni Merit Award
- Donald S. Wilson ('65), recipient of the Alumni Service to Society Award
- Karla Saxon Stone ('68) who received an Alumni Service Award, and
- Alexandra Levit ('98), recipient of the Emerging Leader Award.
