Merit Process

Annually, the University provides the College with a salary pool for annual merit increases.

January

In January, the Dean requests that all faculty returning in the following academic year provide an updated CV and vita supplement to their Chair or Director.  Vita supplements and CVS are then submitted to the Dean’s Office.   

April

In April, after reviewing vita supplements and CVs, chairs and directors makes initial recommendations for increases.  The Dean, Associate Deans and the Budget Committee review and discuss all of the recommendations in the College, referring also to each faculty member’s vita supplements. 

May

In May, when provisional salary figures have been settled, they are made known to chairs/directors, who may respond in writing. The Dean presents the recommended salaries for review by the Provost and after the Provost has approved, notifies each faculty member in July of his or her salary for the coming academic year.
