Updating Pages on Your Department/Program/Center Web Site
Weinberg Web Communications recommends that most faculty/staff use Adobe Contribute for updating department/program/center web sites. Advanced users may opt to update department/program/center web sites with Adobe Dreamweaver. The currently supported versions are Contribute CS3 or CS4 (preferred) and Dreamweaver CS3 or CS4.
- Web Concepts and Definitions
- Updating pages with Contribute (recommended for most users)
- Updating pages with Dreamweaver (option for advanced users)
If possible, users of older versions of Dreamweaver should upgrade to Dreamweaver CS3/CS4. Otherwise, please consult SFTP for Windows or SFTP for Macintosh to upload pages.
Adobe Contribute Tips
#1: To create a line break without a line space, hold the shift key as you tap the "Enter" key.
#2: Need to indent a single line, or one or more paragraphs, of text? Use the indent button (see image) NOT the space bar. Why? Because using the spacebar will result in a string of non-breaking spaces that could size differently on different browsers, resulting in a ragged left margin, or create awkward and unnatural sentence wrapping.
Detailed information about using Contribute is also available on this site.
