Backup Recommendations

CrashPlan PRO

Weinberg IT recommends the use of CrashPlan PRO to provide automated backups of your computer. CrashPlan PRO is available for recently imaged Macs, PCs and some Linux and Solaris installations as well as the computers that have gone through our Computer Management process.

Network Storage

For work-related data that is not backed up via CrashPlan PRO, Weinberg IT offers network storage as an alternative. If you keep all of your data on network storage, your data is automatically backed up. If work primarily from your computer and save work in local folders (ie, My Documents on Windows or Documents on Macs), you will have to regularly copy and paste from your computer onto the network storage space for a proper backup of these files.

Any easily recreated or restored data should not be backed up. Do not back up your operating system files or your applications/program files.
