IT Requests Related to Personnel Changes
New hires and personnel changes
Our goal is to set up technology in advance, so that people are able to work when they come in on their first day. To that end, please submit a service request with Weinberg IT 5 business days in advance of the new hire or personnel change start date, and 15 business days if new computer equipment must be purchased.
We will need the following information to get started:
- The location where the person will be working;
- Whether or not a computer is already available;
- A list of needed software beyond the standard software image (e.g. Matlab, Adobe products, etc.);
- A list of needed accounts and privileges (email and calendar, file server access, etc.).
In addition, please be aware that you may need to complete one or more of the following actions:
- Purchasing necessary computer equipment;
- Verifying that the work location has active network connectivity;
- Submitting all necessary paperwork to HR so that a NetID can be created;
- Arranging for access to NU enterprise systems (SES, FASIS, NUFinancials, etc.).
Termination
Please submit a service request with Weinberg IT 5 business days in advance of a voluntary termination. In the event of an involuntary termination, please notify Weinberg IT as soon as possible.
In both cases, Weinberg IT will ensure that the appropriate access and permissions are removed and that the appropriate people will have access to the departing person's data.
The request is considered complete when all access to systems and data have been disabled or modified in accordance with department needs and security best practices.
