Why Weinberg?

“My entire experience at Northwestern made me more malleable and well-rounded.”

At Northwestern, Janesh became a better writer, reader and critical thinker who could question ideas and engage in more thoughtful debate.

Beyond the classroom, Rahlan savored his involvement in extracurriculars such as Moneythink, an organization that teaches financial literacy to high school students. His Weinberg College education opened the door to experiences such as a summer 2013 internship with Goldman Sachs; a Northwestern research project analyzing how the media influences the behavior of independent voters; a fellowship with the entrepeneurial technology program Think Chicago; and a Fulbright scholarship that enabled him to spend a year teaching English in eastern Turkey.

Rahlan’s next adventure

In July 2015, Rahlan entered LinkedIn’s Strategy and Analytics Leadership Program. Focused on using data to grow the social network’s business, Rahlan spent the second half of 2016 working with LinkedIn’s support team in Singapore.

“A lot of companies have a mission statement, but I love being involved in a company that absolutely lives its mission of creating economic opportunity for others. And because of the practical applications of the education I received at Northwestern, I’m able to see ways to help our team accomplish just that.”

“Because of Northwestern, I was able to see beyond the surface. I gained a greater appreciation for learning, opened my mind to different perspectives, and had an opportunity to apply some wonderful skills to real-world problems.”
